  let's call it what it is - disagreeing with the watchtower bible and tract society after baptism into the cult.

  in no way is the literal definition of the word "apostasy" applicable to what the cult is using the word for.

  it is a buzz word that scares the crap out of the rank and file and keeps them from communicating with those who have become enlightened about the cults lies.. we here on jwn have accepted the wt label, "apostates", with a sense of humor, such as calling our get togethers apostafests, etc.. but we are actually the "enlightened"..

  cedars, as usual, is laying down waves of wisdom on the beaches of our battered ex-JW lives.

  That said, it reminded me of how the Watchtower Society uses the term "worldly". As any of us here know, it is a supreme insult to be referred to as acting "worldly". But in the REAL world, the term worldly denotes being experience and sophisticated.

  Hell, I'll take that over "close-minded homophobic cultist" any day of the week.

  CO Visits... Are elders honest about the TRUE state of the congregation?

  this question is really for elders or ex-elders (or ministerial servants in the know).... did you find that some elders would tend to "white-wash" the true state of the congregation when they had their sit-down with the co every 6 months?.

  did some elders feel pressure to hide certain things from a co for fear of being "removed" from the boe?.

  (judging by the "fakeness" that some elders displayed during co visits, i have to wonder whether they were really worried about being removed for not seeking out inactives or encouraging more participation during the wt study, book study or fs...).

  winston and OTWO are spot on (as are many of the other comments).... but you guys left something out....

  not only will they outright LIE about actually doing shepherding calls but they will sit there with shit-eating grins and pat themselves on the back when/if the CO tells them to their faces that they are doing "a fine job shepherding Jehovah's Flock". I was a MS and I saw this first hand; was a major red-flag for me.

  What exactly is a relasionship with God?

  growing up and jw and being around them all my life i constantly heard the expression "a relasionship with god".

  this always confused me, because how do you have a relasionship with someone that doesn't talk back to you after praying?

  this was always rationalized as god talks back to you when you read the bible.

  to me a relationship with God means BEING God.

  And to do this one usually enables cheats and then in the console, you simply type 'GODMODE'

  The result is unlimited health, ammo and keys to every locked door. you can mow down friend and foe alike with ZERO consequences. Nobody can stop you as you unleash your wrath upon all.

  But that's just me.
